正阿弥派は、埋忠派と共に室町時代から江戸後期に至るまで繁栄した。室町・桃山時代の物を古正阿弥と称す。
これに対して桃山・江戸期に下がるものを京正阿弥と称す事もある。京都を中心として、
伊予、阿波、会津、秋田、庄内、江戸時代には全国に広く分布している。

鍔は、八ツ木瓜形の鍛えの良い鉄に、雁金雪輪の透かしとなります。

"The Shōami School, along with the Umetsada School, prospered from the Muromachi period to the late Edo period. Works from the Muromachi and Momoyama periods are referred to as "Old Shōami". In contrast, those from the Momoyama and Edo periods are sometimes referred to as "Kyoto Shōami". Centered in Kyoto, they spread to Iyo, Awa, Aizu, Akita, and Shonai. By the Edo period, their presence was widespread throughout the country.

The tsuba is made of well-forged iron in the shape of an eight-pointed quince. It features a pierced design of wild geese and snow rings."
